Hurley-Byrd Covered Deer Feeders are designed to protect your feeder's contents with a large oversized roof. Most importantly our feeders are very attractive to your deer and you will find quick success with Shelled Corn, Deer Chow, Apples or whatever.
Each Hurley-Byrd Feeder is Handcrafted:
Premium Western Red Cedar: The finest in the world. Perfect grain and beautiful colors.
Trough, Roof and Legs: Crafted of thick cut western red cedar. Perfectly clear - NO KNOTS.
Solid Brass Screws: Not cheaply built with inferior staples, nails or brads.
Easy Assembly: 6 or 8 brass screws complete the roof. Carriage bolts, washers and wing nuts for easy assembly and disassembly for storage, cleaning or roof height adjustments.
Flat Bottom Trough: For easier feed consumption and positive water drainage.
Our Permanently Installed Covered Deer Feeder (PI-CDF) is crafted to the same dimensions as the Free Standing model but uses 36" legs (no diagonal supports or feet) that are buried in the ground 12” to 14". This sets the top of the trough at a comfortable 22” to 24” feeding height. We recommend this feeder when you positively know the exact location you wish to establish a feeding station and the feeder will remain in this spot. It can be moved but obviously is more difficult than the free standing version.

The Free Standing Covered Deer Feeder (FS-CDF, pictured to the left) is crafted using our Extra or Ultra Large Deer Feeder troughs having capacities of 25 and 35 pounds respectively. The top of the trough sets at a perfect 24" feeding height and all your deer, even the babies, will feed comfortably. The roof measures 18" wide, 48" or 60" in length and its height over the trough can be set at 13", 17 1/2" or 20" and helps protect the trough's contents during inclement weather. All this stands on 24” Western Red Cedar feet with hardwood diagonal supports for extra strength and spiking holes are available in the feet as well. The landscaping spikes are provided to help support the whole feeder.

Is it Easy to Assemble and Install?
All Hurley-Byrd Covered Deer Feeders are simple to assemble. A screwdriver is the only tool required to complete the near fully assembled roof. The remainder of the feeder is assembled using carriage bolts, washers and wing nuts. The carriage bolts and wing nuts allow for easy disassemble of the feeder for roof adjustment or storage and then reassembly on a later date. I never write a company about a product but write you to joyously praise your covered deer feeder [Ultra Large] in the free standing mode. For years my wife and I have been looking for a deer feeder for our home and all that is available are the hunter's types of feeders. The ones with hanging barrels, motor spinners, etc. and this is not what we wanted.
